Casing Systems

Robit Casing Systems are the key components of the Ground Drilling Tools product line. Its patented locking system enables easy and reliable drilling cost effectively. Robit Casing Systems have several references worldwide in all major ground drilling applications: forepoling, anchoring, piling and underpinning, horizontal drilling, water and thermal well drilling, soil investigation/ monitoring and underwater drilling.

Single-Use Top Hammer for Fiberglass

Robit has developed a system for fiberglass casings. A unique casing shoe works as a shock-absorber protecting the drilling forces. Fiberglass casings bring several benefits:

Solitary ring system for down the hole hammer

DTH SR products are economical and cost-effective to use when the ground is homogenous with few small boulders. With the same pilot you can install piles and interlocked Pipe-Pile-Wall piles just by using ring bits with different outside diameters. Robit Steel Fist product family is designed for specific piling operations, sizes from 273 mm up to 1200 mm. New economic way for traditional piling work, but also capable for installing water-proof Pipe-Pile-Walls. No ring bit is needed when piling with DTH SF. Usage in homogenous soil conditions with small boulders. In some overburden drilling applications the casing has to be removed from the ground. This sets higher requirements on the durability of the equipment. Double groove design* in the casing shoe and the best materials available guarantee that Robit Multi-Use System does not fail, even in the most difficult conditions. DTH-RoX HZ

Horizontal System for Down the Hole Hammer

The loads in Horizontal Drilling that the casing systems must endure are severely higher than in typical vertical drilling. Robit Rocktools has developed a system which is capable of handling even the toughest ground conditions.

The Robit HZ- System consists of three parts; pilot bit, ring bit assembly with the ring bit and protective layer and impact shoe. The pilot bits hits directly the casing via the welded casing shoe. This causes that all the efforts of pulling the tube is diverted to the impact shoe and not on the ring.  The ring bit is rotated with the pilot bit. This system leads to a longer life time of the ring bit, better penetration during drilling and increased reliability to finish the hole on time and according to plans.

DTH-Rox NS

Non-Stop system for down the hole hammer

Robit Non-Stop System is an advanced casing system that starts to drill with a casing, then continues beyond it without tool changes. No need to pull out the pilot bit and the drill string to replace it by a conventional down the hole bit. A single operation disconnects the pilot and the ring from the casing. The drilling can be continued free from the casing tube without losing the drilling diameter. Robit Non-Stop system can be used in various applications:

  • Anchoring
  • Piling
  • Water and thermal well drilling

Working Principal

  1. Drill the casing to the required depth.
  2. Continue drilling with the pilot  and ring bit combination beyond the casing.
  3. Retrieve the pilot. Ring bit is left in the ground.
  4. Install the anchor and pull the casing out from the hole.
