Mineral Exploration and Mining
Mineral exploration can involve many types of drilling methods. The three most common types are:
- Core drilling
- Conventional Air Rotary
- Reverse Circulation Air Rotary
In all three types, tooling is advanced to find a bulk or core sample, or a constantly bagged bulk sample through reverse circulation. Commonly, during conventionally drilled bore holes, the formation is logged electronically to give an indication of what might lie below. Mining involves blasthole and pre-shear drilling for benching the walls of the mine pit. Rock drills, as well as larger machines are commonly used for this purpose.
Pinnacle Drilling Products can offer a full line of core barrels, as well as both diamond impregnated and polycrystaline diamond core bits for the diamond and core drill contactor. We also supply reverse circulation drill pipe for both reverse air and reverse flood drilling, as well as all related tooling for the RC string. Reverse Circulation hammers and bits can also be supplied on request. Tooling for conventionally drilled air rotary holes is always available. Pinnacle also supplies threaded drill steel, in T-38, T45, and T51 thread styles, T60, and EL68 can be supplied by request. M/F speed rod as well as M/M extention rods are readily accessible. We carry a large supply of threaded bits in sizes 2 1/2 through 6" in all thread types. Drill steel for blasthole drills in diameters 3.5" up to 10.75" with Beco threads, deck bushings, shock subs, floating cushion subs, and crossover subs are some of the items we supply as well. We offer these products for several drills manufactured by different rig builders. We also offer several different sizes of heavy duty quarry hammers, and can offer standard as well as bits designed to suit all formations encountered during the benching process.
